The Badgers concluded play in the Tom Fallon Invitational on Sunday, wrapping up the three-day tournament in South Bend, Ind. Again, all three Badgers participated in the final rounds of singles and doubles play.
The team started off the day with singles play against opponents from Notre Dame and Western Michigan. Mike Muskievicz, looking to finish the tournament undefeated in singles play took on Notre Dames Tyler Davis. Muskievicz however could not continue his streak, as he fell in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. Luke Rassow-Kantor and Peter Marrack both finished singles play on a high note against players from Western Michigan. Rassow-Kantor defeated Kevin Hayward in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, as Marrack also won in straight sets over Brad Noel 6-4, 6-4.
Doubles play came to a close with the same pairs of Muskievicz and Rassow-Kantor, as Marrack teamed up with Notre Dames Takashi Yoshii. Muskievicz and Rassow-Kantor concluded play in doubles as they defeated the pair of Davis and Johnson from Notre Dame 9-7. The pair of Marrack and Yoshii struggled again in their final match, as the fell to Ball States Jose Perdomo and Jorge Rodriguez 8-3.
The final results for the Badgers weekend is 8-4 in singles play, and 3-5 in doubles play. The Badgers will look to the ITA Midwest Region Championships next, which begin on Thursday, Oct. 16.
