Wisconsin mens tennis players, Alex and Lachezar Kasarov, fell in todays qualifying round of the Icy Hot ITA All-American Championships, in Chattanooga, Tenn. This prestigious tournament is the largest in collegiate tennis, hosting over 350 competitors.
Alex, a senior from Bulgaria, lost in singles play to Georgias Strahinja Bobusic, 6-3, 6-0. Last season, he competed at the top spot in Wisconsin singles for most of the season, boasting an overall record of 12-18, including 9-13 in duals, and 3-8 in Big Ten. He also was the only player from Wisconsin to be named to the 2004 All-Big Ten Team.
Alex paired up with his brother, Lachezar, in the qualifying round of the doubles tournament. The brothers lost to Viktor Zetterholm and Nejc Smole of Denver, 9-8 (3).
The entire Badger team is back in action Oct. 15-17 when it makes the trek to the University of Michigan for the Michigan Invitational
