MADISON, Wis.-- A move up the ATP singles rankings also moved former UW men’s tennis player Marek Michalicka into the top spot on the UW record list. Michalicka earned his highest career ranking on July 9, when he was ranked 248. It is the highest ATP singles ranking of a Wisconsin men’s tennis player.
Michalicka passed Mike Barr, who was ranked as high as 249, to earn the top spot.
Moritz Baumann also moved up the ATP rankings and the UW record book. Baumann moved to No. 399 on July 9 to earn the third-highest ATP singles ranking in UW history. On July 16, Baumann moved to No. 364, his highest career ranking.
