The Wisconsin mens tennis team dropped its second Big Ten Conference dual of season Saturday, as it lost to No. 72 Indiana, 5-2. The Badgers fell to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers improved to 7-7 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Wisconsin captured the doubles point in the first phase of the match, taking victories at No. 1 and No. 3. The Badgers top pair, 33rd-ranked senior co-captain David Hippee and junior Alex Kasarov soundly defeated Ryan Recht and John Stone, 8-2. Sophomores Ward Bortz and Jordan Raemisch took down Neil Kenner and Ryan McCarthy, 8-6.
In singles matches, No. 73 Jakob Praibis took out Alex Kasarov, 7-6 (3), 6-2 at the No. 1 spot, while senior co-captain Scott Green toppled Ryan Recht in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 for the Badgers second point.
The Badgers return to the court Wednesday, March 31 as they face Louisville (13-7) at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The match will begin at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
