Senior Petr Satral finished the tournament undefeated in both singles and doubles play. Head coach Greg Van Emburgh commented on the team captain's importance as a leader.

"Petr played extraordinary tennis this weekend. He leads by example and is an excellent role model for the younger players."

Wisconsin's excellent performance earned the Badgers a sweep of all of the tournament awards. Satral earned Men's Singles Champion while sophomore Alexander Kokorev received Runner-up.

Van Emburgh was pleased with the way his young team performed at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.

"Our freshmen played well.  Both John (Zordani) and Elliot (Sprecher) had solid records for their first collegiate event, and I'm excited to see them move forward."

He is also excited about building on the team's success this weekend going into ITA regionals in Columbus, Ohio starting Oct. 17.

"I think we have a unique team. They have good chemistry and they all want to be ultra competitive. We've set the stage to do so in practice and it paid off this weekend. From here we're going to take every day with that in mind and continue to develop going forward."
