KAZAN, Russia -- Michael Weiss and Dan Lester were very prominent swimmers across the NCAA landscape during their four-year tenures for the Cardinal and White.

That prominence is beginning to take a global shift as the duo has put on a few impressive performances for their respective countries at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia.

Weiss led off the 800-meter freestyle relay for U.S. team, guiding the team to a silver-medal finish and swimming a 1:47.66 split. Not to be outdone, Lester swam to a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter individual medley (2:01.20) after earning a fifth seed following prelims.

Lester also earned a top-15 finish in the 100-meter butterfly, while finishing top-20 in the 50-meter fly during the first few days of competition.

Badgers incoming freshman Matt Hutchins swam the 400-meter freestyle race and placed 24th.
