Senior Amanda Witte took 22nd in the 1-meter preliminary round to lead the University of Wisconsin men's and women's diving teams Friday on day one of the NCAA Zone C Qualifying Meet at the McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion.
Witte's score of 228.90 was the best showing among the Badgers. Freshman Laura Davidson, who is competing in her first NCAA qualifying meet, earned 37th place (196.40).
On the men's 3-meter board, sophomore Justin Bonner posted 24th place (242.50) while twin brother Josh Bonner finished 37th (201.00). Freshmen Kelly Todd earned 26th place with a score of 240.00.
Taylor Roberts from Indiana won the mens 3-meter finals (677.35), while Nacilea Underwood from Iowa was victorious on the womens 1-meter board (626.95).
The divers will continue competition tomorrow with the mens 1-meter and the womens 3-meter, beginning at 10 a.m. C.T.
