• Sign Up For Winter Clinics
MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team will host its annual winter clinics beginning in December.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with current and former members of the Badgers men’s soccer team, as well as the coaching staff, in an organized and energy-filled environment.
The lineup includes the Winter Holiday Camp (Dec. 27-28), College ID Camp (Jan. 4-5) and the UW Boys’ Winter Soccer Academy (10 sessions from Jan. 15-March 26). All clinics will be held in the McClain Center on the Camp Randall Stadium grounds.
The camp season kicks off with the Winter Holiday Camp, which will be held on Dec. 27-28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Winter Holiday Camp is available to any and all entrants, boys only, ages 6-13.
The camp is designed to give campers an opportunity to play soccer and develop their game over a time no one else is playing during their school's holiday break. The morning session will focus on technical development with soccer, tennis, trivia, as well as individual and small group activities in the late morning and early afternoon.
The College ID Camp will be held Jan. 4-5 and is open to any and all boys, ages 14 and up. Both field players and goalkeepers are welcome; however, goalkeepers’ positions fill up quickly. It is designed for players and prospects to gain a better understanding of the demands of Division I collegiate soccer.
Over the course of two days, the UW men’s soccer staff will train participants as if they were current members of the UW men’s soccer team. Current UW student-athletes will be utilized as demonstrative assistants, in hopes of giving participants a greater understanding of their development prior to entering a collegiate environment. There will also be additional collegiate soccer coaches working at the camp to increase the exposure of participants.
The UW Boys’ Winter Soccer Academy will consist of 10 training sessions held on Tuesdays over an 11-week period from Jan. 15-March 26. The camp is open to boys ages 6-18.
The idea of the winter academy is to provide participants a training environment where they can realize their goals of improving as a “total soccer player.” Top-level training along with advanced methods, will allow participants potential growth in areas that normal team training does not allow. This concept is about the participant’s development in all facets of the game. Participants will be grouped by ability, as well as by age, to provide the best learning environment for each player. Participants are encouraged to attend every session, as each focus on a different technical aspect of the game to achieve “total football.”

UW offers campers a first-class experience in developing as a soccer player and the opportunity to learn from some of the most dedicated and well-respected coaches in the country.
