MADISON, Wis. -- After eclipsing 13 wins for the first time since 1995, the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team earned a berth in the NCAA men’s soccer tournament for the first time in nearly two decades.

The Badgers will host I-94 rival, Milwaukee, on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the McClimon Complex.

Wisconsin owns an 8-4-0 all-time mark in the NCAA tournament, including an unbeaten 5-0 record during the team’s last appearance en route to the 1995 national title. UW head coach John Trask will make his fourth NCAA tournament appearance, including his first with the Badgers.

Trask guided the University of Illinois-Chicago to three-consecutive NCAA tournament berths from 2006-08, reaching the Elite Eight in 2007. In all three of his NCAA championships appearances, Trask has advanced to at least the second round of tournament play.

The Panthers and Badgers will meet for the 36th time in program history, and the first time in the postseason.

In the teams’ last meeting on Oct. 23, UW and Milwaukee ended in a 1-1 tie at Engelmann Field, bringing the series record to 14-14-7 all-time.

Advanced tickets will go on-sale Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8:30am. Tickets are available online at UWBadgers.com, over the phone by calling 1.800.GO.BADGERS or 608.262.1440, or in person at the Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office, between the business hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm.
