The Wisconsin mens soccer team will look to close out the regular season on a high note when it plays host to Big Ten foe No. 10 Indiana Sunday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m. at the McClimon Soccer Complex. The game will be carried live by the Big Ten Network.
In their most recent contest, the Badgers (6-6-5 overall, 0-3-2 Big Ten) defeated Illinois-Chicago 2-1 at Flames Field in Chicago last Sunday. The win was the first by UW since a 4-0 victory over Northern Illinois on Sept. 26.
Junior Victor Diaz (Madrid, Spain) tallied two assists in that contest to extend his current point streak to five matches. Diaz leads the Badgers in both assists (eight) and points (16) while his current five-match point streak is the longest by a Badger this season.
The Hoosiers (12-4-2, 4-0-1) enter the weekend on a six-match unbeaten streak, going 5-0-1 in that stretch. That streak includes wins over Northwestern and Penn State and a tie with Northwestern. Indiana posted a 4-0 victory at Kentucky earlier this week on Wednesday.
Indiana has already clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title, but IU would win the title outright with either a win or a tie against Wisconsin. The Hoosiers would also clinch the outright title with a loss or a tie by Ohio State at Michigan State on Sunday.
Wisconsin is 3-29-3 all-time against Indiana including a 1-0 loss last season in Bloomington in a game that could have given the Badgers a share of the Big Ten title. Two of Wisconsins three victories in the series took place in Madison, however the Badgers have not defeated the Hoosiers since 1995, dropping 14 straight meetings.
Sundays match will mark the third time that the Badgers have been featured on the Big Ten Network this season. Wisconsin also appeared on live television on Sept. 30 against Michigan State and on Oct. 6 at Northwestern.
Kickoff between Wisconsin and Indiana is set for 1 p.m. Sunday at McClimon Soccer Complex.
