Lauber Ties School Record as Badgers Defeat NU 5-2



Senior forward Aaron Lauber scored four goals tying the school record set by Andy Rectenwal in 1986 as the Badgers beat Northwestern 5-2 in Evanston, Ill.

Wisconsin's Lauber scored the game's first goal off of a corner kick from Nick Van Sicklen at 7:39. Northwestern answered with their own goal by Daniel Doman off a corner kick in the 15th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Aaron Lauber took over control for the Badgers offensively scoring the next three goals, the last goal was a penalty kick just after intermission to put the Badgers up 3-1. Lauber is the second-leading scorer for the Badgers with 10 goals and 20 points on the season.

The Northwestern offense collected one more goal in the 66th minute when Brett Grob headed the ball off of a corner kick past Wisconsin goalie Phil Ayoub. Wiscosin freshman forward Nick Van Sicklen added the final goal with an assist from Nicolas Aguilar at 70:00 to put the Badgers up 5-2 and solidify the win.

The win was Wisconsin's second straight Big Ten victory. The Badgers improved to 9-7-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the Big Ten. The Badgers will return home to host Ohio State for Senior Day at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
