Badgers to Face the Golden Grizzlies

After two consecutive games ending in draws after playing into double overtime, the Wisconsin mens soccer team looks to improve its record against Oakland at home on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. at the McClimon Soccer Complex.

UW (5-5-5 overall, 0-3-2 Big Ten) recently faced Penn State at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pa. on Oct. 20. The game ended in a 3-3 tie after a hard-fought battle between the Big Ten competitors.

Prior to that, Wisconsin tied Marquette University 1-1 at home on Oct. 17 in another long match that endured through an extra 20 minutes of play as well as a 30 minute delay of game due to lightning.

Oakland University (7-5-2, 4-0 Summit) most recently shut out IPFW 2-0 in conference play at home on Oct. 20. In their last away game, the Golden Grizzlies fell to Michigan State 2-1 on Oct. 17.

UW and Oakland have a very short competitive history. The first and last time the two teams met was Sept. 11, 2005 in Milwaukee, Wis. when the Badgers defeated the Golden Grizzlies 2-1.

Wisconsins season is quickly coming to a close, with only two home games and one away game before the Big Ten Tournament in East Lansing, Mich. on Nov. 8-11.

This is Wisconsins last non-conference game at home. The teams last match at the McClimon Soccer Complex will be against Big Ten competitor Indiana on Nov. 4.

The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the McClimon Soccer Complex. Coverage will be available via live stats here .
