The Wisconsin mens soccer team will return to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on UW-Milwaukee at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. The team had previously competed in Milwaukee for the UW-Milwaukee Panther Classic on Sept. 14 and 16.
Wisconsin (5-4-2 overall, 0-2-1 Big Ten) recently lost two Big Ten matches to Michigan State 3-0 on Sept. 30, and to Northwestern 3-0 on Oct. 6. In their most recent non-conference match, the Badgers defeated Northern Illinois 4-0 on Sept. 26.
The Panthers (2-8-1, 2-0-1 Horizon) have not played at their home field since Sept. 29, when they tied Valparaiso in double overtime. In their last two games, they shut out Butler 3-0 on Oct. 5, and Wright State 2-0 on Oct. 7.
UW and UWM have competed 29 times since Nov. 5, 1977, when the two teams first played in Milwaukee, Wis., resulting in a 5-0 win for the Badgers. The Panthers lead overall with a 13-11-5 competition record.
Most recently, the teams tied 2-2, playing into double overtime at the McClimon Soccer Complex on Sept. 20, 2006. The last time they met in Milwaukee, on Oct. 4, 2005, the Badgers shut out the Panthers 2-0.
