Badgers Win on the Road Again, Beating Yale 2-0

Sophomore forward Phil Doeh (Dixon, Ill.) scored the game winning goal at the 14:39 mark to lead Wisconsin to a 2-0 victory over Yale in the first round of the adidas-Brown Soccer Classic at Brown's Stevenson Field.

Doeh, his first goal of the year, scored the game winner on a deflection off Jed Hohlbein's (Madison, Wis.) shot early in the first half. The Badgers put the Bulldogs away late in the game, at the 78:10 mark, when junior forward David Martinez (Shawnee, Kan.) scored on a Holhlbein cross pass.

We played very inspired, said Badger head coach Jeff Rohrman. It was as complete a game as weve played this year. Everyone played at a level that they should be playing at by now and to rebound after our tough loss to UWGB during the week was a credit to the players.

Wisconsin goalkeeper Eric Hanson (Madison, Wis.) made 6 saves in net for the Badgers to earn the shutout. Hansons six saves, a game high for the season, gave him his seventh career shutout. Matt Aleksina made five saves in goal for the Elis.

Wisconsin will take on Brown in second-round action of the adidas-Brown Classic, Sunday, Sept. 14 at 12:30 p.m., while Yale takes on Stanford at 11:00 a.m.

The Badgers improve to 3-3-0 this season, including a 2-1-0 mark on the road to date.
