With 13 true freshmen in addition to two transfers, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team has many new faces for the upcoming season. Follow along as UWBadgers.com introduces the newest Badgers during preseason training camp. Today, we meet freshman Paul Yonga of Brooklyn Park, Minn.

Why did you choose Wisconsin?
Wisconsin is a great academic school and has a very competitive soccer team in the Big Ten.

What are you expecting out of your first season at UW?
I am expecting to make new friends and understand how to manage playing soccer and going to school.

What goals do you have for the upcoming season?
Become a regular starter and help the team try to win a Big Ten Championship.

How did you spend your summer?
I spent my summer playing soccer with my club team and training to get myself prepared for Division I college soccer.

What are the strongest parts of your game?
My leadership and my understanding of the game

What part of your game needs the most work?
Being more physical

What is your favorite thing about Madison?
Even though it’s a big school, it seems like there is a great sense of community.

Outside of soccer, what is your best talent?
I am a pretty good basketball player.

Watching television or movies
