The Wisconsin mens soccer team extends its preseason with another exhibition game at McClimon Soccer Complex against Inferno 95 on Sunday, Aug. 29th at 1:00 p.m.
The Badgers hope to build off of last Sundays tie against Loyola before their first regular-season game Friday, Sept. 3 at the Big Toe Soccer Invitational at McClimon. Kickoff versus Evansville is set for 7:30 p.m.
Wisconsin has never faced Inferno 95, a club team from Minnesota, so both teams will have to adapt quickly to each others style of play.
Inferno 95 is no stranger to the Badger soccer program. Its roster includes three former UW letter winners, Erik Lindstrom (96, 97, 98), Tamba Johnson (97, 98, 99) and Matt Holmes (91, 92, 93).
The team is also the 2004 Minnesota Cup Champions and 2004 Regional Finalists, losing only to the eventual National Champions. Inferno 95 should be strong competition for the young Badger squad.
Wisconsin will need a solid performance from its defensive line, comprised mostly of underclassmen, to secure a victory. Look for returning letter winner and second team all Big Ten selection Aaron Hohlbien to anchor the defense.
