Big Ten Release

MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin men's soccer team was tabbed sixth in the 2012 Big Ten men's soccer preseason poll, the conference announced Tuesday. Reigning Big Ten champion Northwestern and conference power-house Indiana tied for the top spot in the poll.

Sophomore AJ Cochran (St. Louis, Mo.) and juniors Chris Prince (Naperville, Ill.) and Paul Yonga (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) were named to the Players to Watch list. Cochran was a unanimous All-Big Ten freshman-team selection and led the Badger defenders in scoring last season. Prince was an All-Big second-team selection last season, while Yonga was an important cog in the Badger defense.

Wisconsin opens the 2012 season on Saturday, Aug. 24, with a trip to Memphis. Head coach John Trask returns 16 letterwinners and welcomes 11 newcomers to this year's squad.
