With five newcomers joining the Wisconsin mens soccer team this fall, UWBadgers.com took the time to get to know the new Badgers in time for the start of the 2009 season. Today we meet freshman defender athid=66139&deptid=122"> --> Kyle McCrudden of Wilmette, Ill.
I chose Wisconsin for a couple of different reasons. When I first visited as a junior, I immediately was drawn to the outstanding athletic atmosphere the school had. Then, I really liked where the soccer program was going and, academically, Madison seemed like a good fit for me. The final touch was me falling in love with the campus.

What goals do you have for the upcoming season
I have heard good things from some of the guys, so I am expecting a winning season and an NCAA tournament appearance.
How did you spend your summer
I was playing soccer the first half of the summer until I injured my ankle, and then I spent the last half rehabbing and enjoying the good weather.
What is the strongest part of your game
I believe the strongest part of my game is reading the play and being able to anticipate what is going to happen next.
What is your favorite thing about Madison
My favorite part about Madison is the outstanding campus. I really like State Street and all the different things there are to do.
What are your pregame rituals
Usually I just listen to music and try to focus on the game.
