Three Badger goalkeepers combined for a shut-out as the University of Wisconsin mens soccer team and UW-Parkside played to a scoreless draw. The Badgers hosted UW-Parkside for its first exhibition match Sunday afternoon at McClimon Soccer Complex.

Junior Alex Horwath played the first 60 minutes in the UW net, as the game was split up in three 30-minute periods. Sophomore Dom Laporte and freshman Jamal Habibi each played half of the third period.

The Badgers had numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game. Wisconsins best chance came early in the second period from senior Scott Lorenz (Barrington, Ill.) when he hit the crossbar from a free kick approximately 30-yards out.

Austin Spohn found space at the top of the box after a pass from midfielder Max Wilson. His shot on goal was stopped by UW-Parkside goalkeeper Jamie Lieberman about eight minutes into the third period.

The final scoring opportunity for the Badgers cam in the 87th minute of the game when freshman Mark Roos saw his header from inside the box stopped by a diving Lieberman.

The Badgers will host Edgewood on Saturday, Aug. 23 for their second exhibition match at McClimon Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
