Wisconsin Soccer Camp | Badger Sport Camps & Clinics | Bucky’s Buddies Soccer Clinic
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin men’s and women’s soccer programs will co-host the Badger Soccer Day Camp next week, July 19-23. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 12.
Campers will have the opportunity to work firsthand with the Wisconsin men's and women's soccer players as well as both coaching staffs.
The Badger Soccer Day Camp provides young soccer players with an ideal environment to develop their soccer skills and knowledge of the game. Instruction is meant to be challenging and fun to support the young players’ love of the game.
The camp boasts an excellent coach-to camper ratio and will feature small groups focused on individual technique and small-sided games.
Little Stars, ages 4-6, will have a variety of activities and games added to the curriculum to keep the focus on having fun while learning skills, while the older players, ages 6-12, will be challenged at an appropriate level with more advanced activities for both field players and goalkeepers.
The UW men’s team wraps up the summer youth camp season with the Chicago Soccer Day Camp, which is scheduled for July 26-30 in Chicago. This camp is open to boys and girls ages 4-14.
Meanwhile, the Badger women will host two Elite Training Camps in Madison July 25-27 (Camp I) and July 28-30 (Camp II). The Elite Training Camps are intended for players who are driven to train and compete at the college level. Strength training, video analysis and positional training are examples of sessions provided. In addition, Wisconsin women’s soccer goalkeeper coach Tim Rosenfeld will provide specific goalkeeper instruction.
Finally, the Bucky’s Buddies Soccer Clinic, sponsored by American Family Insurance, is scheduled for noon on Saturday, Aug. 21. Kids age 12 and under can participate in the skills clinic hosted by the Badgers men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The Wisconsin women’s soccer team opens its 2010 home schedule on Friday, Aug. 27, as the Badgers host 2009 NCAA semifinalist UCLA at 7 p.m. at the McClimon Complex.
Meanwhile, the men’s soccer team kicks off the 2010 season on the road against Santa Clara on Sept. 4. The men host the Wisconsin Soccer Classic Sept. 17-19, opening their home season against San Diego State on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Also, the Badgers will host the second annual PAC the MAC doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 10. Both UW teams will be in action, as the women’s team hosts Illinois at noon and the men’s team hosts Michigan at 2:30 p.m. Kids will receive free admission by wearing their youth team soccer jersey to the games.
