The Wisconsin mens soccer team wraps up its spring exhibition season this week with two matches at the McClimon Soccer Complex. The Badgers welcome the under-18 Chicago Sockers club team on Thursday, April 29, at 7 p.m. and finish with a contest against Wisconsin mens soccer alumni on Friday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. Both games are free and open to the public.
In the final matches of the spring, Wisconsin head coach Jeff Rohrman anticipates that the Badgers will focus on playing at a top level for a full 90 minutes.
[Playing a complete game] is something we have to concentrate on and bring this week when we play, Rohrman said. We need to start learning those lessons now because we dont want to have to learn them in the fall.
Wisconsin will also be fine tuning its lineups, which have seen several changes during the spring season.
Weve been putting people in places that wed like to see them play in the fall, Rohrman said. So far everyone has done a good job at getting used to their positions and the players around them.
After wrapping up its exhibition season on Friday, Wisconsin looks ahead to its challenging fall schedule. The Badgers open the 2004 regular season in Madison against Evansville on Friday, Sept. 3 and Dayton on Sunday, Sept. 5, in the Wisconsin Soccer Classic.
