The Wisconsin men's soccer team remains unbeaten in its spring season after the Badgers earned a 1-1 draw with Western Illinois in an exhibition game Sunday in Macomb, Ill.
UW saw its shutout streak end, but senior-to-be Brandon Miller scored his first goal of the spring to improve the Badgers' record to 2-0-2. In the teams' meeting last season, Western Illinois scored a 1-0 win in Madison.
"I thought we played very well against a really well-organized group," UW head coach Todd Yeagley said. "We were strong in our attack and generated plenty of quality chances on goal."
The Badgers did not surrender a goal in their first three matches of the spring, outscoring their opponents by a combined 6-0 margin.
UW will wrap up its spring slate Saturday, April 25, with a pair of games in the annual Wisconsin Cup in Milwaukee. The Badgers will face Marquette at 10 a.m. and then take on either UW-Milwaukee or UW-Green Bay in an afternoon match at Valley Fields.
