The University of Wisconsin mens soccer team released its 2002 fall schedule today.
Following a home exhibition game versus Northern Illinois on August 17, the Badgers will open the regular season at home for the fourth time in the last five years, hosting Iona, Florida Atlantic and Western Michigan in the 14th annual Rocky Rococo-Wisconsin Soccer Classic on August 30 and September 1. UW plays its next five games on the road including a trip to Spokane, Wash., for the Gonzaga Invitational September 6-8.
The Badgers return home for a contest against Eastern Illinois on September 20 before opening Big Ten play at Ohio State on September 20. Conference matches against Penn State, Michigan and Northwestern will all take place at the McClimon Soccer Complex while the Badgers face Indiana and Michigan State on the road.
Games against Dartmouth and Michigan on October 18 and 20, respectively, are set as doubleheaders with the UW womens team. For the sixth consecutive season, the Badgers will meet all three of the other Division I state schools, hosting UW-Milwaukee on October 16 and visiting UW-Green Bay and Marquette on September 18 and November 9, respectively.
The 2002 Big Ten Championship tournament, hosted by Penn State, will take place in University Park, Pa., from November 14-17.
