The Wisconsin soccer team fell to the Milwaukee Rampage, 2-0, Friday night in the Badgers only home exhibition game this spring. The Rampage, which outshot UW 11-2 in the first half, was held scoreless in the opening period as Badger freshman Eric Hanson made five saves.
Milwaukee took control in the second frame with Sean Reti scoring the game-winner in the 56th minute of play. Reti, a rookie out of Marquette University, broke away from a crowd near the top of the box and fired a bullet past UW junior Phil Ayoub from about 15 yards away. The Rampage grabbed their second goal as Chris Lemons set up Jason Russell for the score with ten minutes left in the game.
The game marked Jeff Rohrmans head coaching debut at the McClimon Soccer Complex and the return of 2001 Badger senior Aaron Lauber who suited up for the Rampage on a tryout basis. Wisconsin, which falls to 2-1-1 in spring competition with the loss, closes out its spring schedule at the Minnesota Thunder.
