The Wisconsin mens soccer team heads to St. Louis this weekend for its first road contest of the spring. The Badgers and Billikens are set to square off at noon on Saturday, April 3, at St. Louis Hermann Field.
Wisconsin and St. Louis have met four times previously in regular season play, with the last matchup in 1987. The Billikens lead the all-time series 3-0-1.
St. Louis finished the 2003 season with a 15-4-3 record, ending their season with a 4-2 loss to No. 2 Maryland in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament.
The match at St. Louis is the third exhibition event of the spring for the Badgers, who have already hosted two round-robin competitions.
Following the match in St. Louis, the Badgers have three more events on their exhibition schedule.
Wisconsin and Marquette are slated to square off in Milwaukee on April 17. The two teams last met in the 2003 regular season with the Badgers earning the 2-1 victory over the Golden Eagles. Freshman forward Matt Jelacic netted the game-winning goal in his first collegiate start.
On April 25, the Badgers go back to Milwaukee for a full-sided match against the A-League Wave United. Wisconsin competed against Milwaukee on March 28 in a college and professional nine-a-side round robin at the McClain Facility.
The Badgers return to Madison to wrap up their spring season with an alumni game on Friday, April 30, at the McClimon Soccer Complex. Fans interested in seeing their favorite Badger soccer players, past and present, are encouraged to attend this free event.
