Wisconsin mens soccer head coach Jeff Rohrman announced he will add one more to his 2006-07 roster. A native of Mount Horeb, Wis., Scott Smith is a defensive midfielder and three-time captain of at Mount Horeb High School.
Scott is a great addition to our team, said Rohrman. He is an outstanding young man and a tremendous athlete. Over time I see him playing a significant role for us.
Smith registered an exceptional 147 points (57g, 33a) during his high school career with an impressive 102 points during his senior campaign (41g, 20a). He is a two-time all-conference first team selection as well as a two-time team MVP. During his senior season, Smith led the team to a regional championship and sectional finals. He was named to the all-state second team for his efforts.
Clearly he was one of the top players coming out of the Madison area, said Rohrman. Were excited to have him join our team.
Standing 5-11 and the son of Dave and Lucy Smith, he also competed on the Mount Horeb basketball team and for the Yahara Blue club soccer team. He was also named to the Mount Horeb honor roll.
