MADISON, Wis. – Prior Wisconsin men’s soccer camp attendees, freshmen Sam Bischmann and Tyler Yanich have been added to the Badgers’ roster for the spring season.
Bischmann, a midfielder from Milwaukee, Wis., has been enjoying his time with the Badgers this spring and has approached the situation with a diligent work ethic.
“I’m just trying to prove myself to the team that I belong here and trying to play as well as I can,” Bischmann said.
Yanich, a midfielder from Naperville, Ill., shares the sentiment about the opportunity to be a Badger student-athlete.
“It’s been really fun getting to know the guys, they’re kind of like celebrities to me, and so to join them is an honor,” Yanich added. “I just want to work as hard as I can, being a student off the field as well as a student on the field.”
The Badgers offer the Boy’s Elite Soccer Academy during the summer, where players are introduced to the rigors of collegiate soccer and are given an inside look at the recruitment process. Both Bischmann and Yanich believe that their previous UW camp experience has helped them this semester as they join the Badgers.
“The coaches give you perfect picture of what you want to do on the field,” Yanich commented. “They also give you a meeting off the field about what you would need to work towards to get on the team.”
The men’s soccer team continues its spring schedule with a trip to Western Illinois on April 6.
