MADISON, Wis. -- Following its record-breaking season in 2013, which included the program’s first NCAA tournament berth in nearly two decades, John Trask and the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer team announced its 2014 spring schedule on Friday.
“There is no better time to build camaraderie and work on development than in the spring,” Trask said. “This schedule allows us to competitively challenge our guys and gives us a chance to take a look at who has improved this offseason.”
The Badgers open the spring by welcoming Green Bay to the McClain Center on Saturday, March 1. The in-state dual kicks off at 3 p.m. (CT) and is the first of five matches UW will play in the state of Wisconsin this spring.
After a month off from competition, Wisconsin returns to the field on April 5 to take on Western Illinois in Malcomb, Ill., before heading home to take on Northern Illinois (7 p.m.) at Reddan Park in Verona, Wis., on April 12.
An April 19 home match against Illinois-Chicago (1 p.m.) precedes UW’s final two spring matches. On April 26, the Badgers will battle a pair of I-94 rivals in Milwaukee and Marquette in their 2014 spring finale.
