MADISON, Wis.  -- Wisconsin freshman defender AJ Cochran has been selected to attend the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team training camp in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The 36-player training camp is being held Jan. 2-9.

"AJ's involvement with the National Team program is very exciting for the coaching staff and his teammates here at Wisconsin," said head coach John Trask. " AJ had a great first year with us and to see him be called in by Tab (Ramos) the new U-20 National Team coach, shows that he's on the radar of the Federation and hopefully he'll enjoy a great soccer experience down in South Florida."

Head coach Tab Ramos is preparing the squad for the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup qualifying tournament, which will likely begin in early 2013. The World Cup will be held in Turkey in 2013, and every player on the roster is age-eligible for the competition.

Cochran was a unanimous selection to the Big Ten's All-Freshman Team in 2011. The St. Louis, Mo., native started in 18 games for the Badgers, scoring one goal and recording three assists for five points.
