MADISON, Wis. -- After downing Green Bay during the fall campaign, 3-0, the Wisconsin men’s soccer team continued to outpace the Phoenix, opening the spring schedule with a 2-0 win over Green Bay on Friday night inside the McClain Center.

The Badgers took the lead in the first half off a goal by sophomore Jacob Brindle. From a high cross, Brindle sprinted into the ball and chipped it over Green Bay’s goalkeeper for the opening score.

Wisconsin continued its strong play in the second half when Tim Lancina netted a goal to put the Badgers up by two. Lancina received help from Joe McLean and Joe Naughton on the play.

The Badgers continue their spring slate with a road trip to Western Illinois on April 6. Wisconsin’s next home spring game is slated for April 21 against Northern Illinois.
