MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin rowing will hold its annual Open House for all prospective crew student-athletes at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, 30 and 31 at the Porter Boathouse.

Wisconsin students interested in competing for the Badgers' nationally-ranked rowing program and becoming a Division I student-athlete in the oldest intercollegiate sport in the country should attend one of the open house dates.

The initial open house is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 3:30 p.m. No previous rowing experience is necessary, as many of our current and former student-athletes, including two who qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, began as walk-ons with no prior knowledge of the sport.

Students in attendance will have the opportunity to learn more about rowing, speak with coaches, as well as current rowers and tour the state-of-the-art boathouse, which was built in 2005.

For more information about joining the UW's oldest varsity sport, prospective student-athletes should contact coach Megan Cooke Carcagno at MC2@athletics.wisc.edu or coach Simon Carcagno at SGC@athletics.wisc.edu.
