MADISON, Wis. -- Two former Wisconsin men's rowers will represent the United States at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London, marking the 12th-consecutive Summer Olympics to feature Wisconsin rowers.

Brothers, Grant and Ross James qualified for the Olympics on Tuesday after winning the men's eight race at the 2012 Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland.

"The James brothers are quintessential Badger oarsmen, beginning with the registration lines at UW all the way to the Olympics seven years later," said Badger men's rowing coach Chris Clark. "We pride ourselves in the development of rowers, from walk-ons to Olympians, and the James' are a credit to the University of Wisconsin and to USRowing."

Natives of DeKalb, Ill., Grant and Ross James attended UW from 2005-09 and both walked-on to the men's rowing team. They would later be a part of the 2008 national championship varsity eight boat. They also won gold at the 2008 World Rowing Under 23 Championships before moving on to the senior team, where they both rowed in the eight at the 2009 and 2011 FISA World Rowing Championships.

With the qualification, Wisconsin men's rowing continues its streak of Badgers qualifying for consecutive Summer Olympics, dating back to the 1968 games in Mexico City.

Rowing at the 2012 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 4.
