Trial Heats Schedule Finals Schedule

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s rowing team is set for the 2013 Eastern Associate of Rowing Colleges Eastern Sprints on Sunday, May 19, in Worcester, Mass.

The Badgers varsity eight claimed a third-place finish at last year’s event, while the novice eight won its grand final.

Last time out for Wisconsin, the Badgers retained possession of the Cochrane Cup, which is awarded to the winner between Wisconsin, MIT and Dartmouth. However, Wisconsin finished second in the varsity eight behind Boston University, as the Terriers claimed the Jablonic Cup. The Badgers second varsity eight and novice eight also finished in second, while the novice eight lost to BU’s third varsity eight.

Against No. 4 Northeastern, the Badgers dropped both the first and second varsity eight races, but by narrow margins. The novice eight beat the Terriers’ third varsity eight boat, getting the lead early on and holding off a late BU push.

Wisconsins’ third varsity eight begins its first heat at 7:48 a.m. (CT). The novice eight will be the next to race for the Badgers at 8:48 a.m. in it’s heat, followed by the second varsity eight at 9:36 a.m. The varsity eight finishes the trial heats portion of the schedule at 9:36 a.m.
