MADISON, Wis. -- The novice men's rowing team closed out its fall season against Michigan on Saturday, winning the two-team race.
Racing against the Michigan club team, Wisconsin's top boat finished first in 13:08.06, nearly 50 seconds faster than Michigan's first boat. The Badgers' third and second boats finished five and 12 seconds behind Michigan, with a time of 14:02.74 and 14:09.38 respectively.
Michigan's second boat was nearly one minute behind Wisconsin's third and final boat and finished in 15:07.51. The Wolverines third, fourth and fifth boats rounded out the final finishers.
After a strong performance in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Badgers' next race will be on April 7, when they join the varsity squad for a dual against Michigan on Lake Mendota in Madison.
