2013-2014 (Freshman): Assisted the freshmen eight and the freshmen four boats compete against Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering, earning first and second place to another Wisconsin boat respectively...rowed fourth seat in the second varsity eight boat that won the Grand Final in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships in June.
High school: Competed in four years of swimming, two years of rowing, and cycling...in swimming, was team captain and qualified for the state tournament all four years...in rowing, was team captain and won the Washington Metro Interscholastic Association title with the 4+ boat in 2013...in cycling, held Arizona state records in several time trials, won Arizona state championship titles in multiple time and event categories, and took 7th at the National Time Trial Championships.
Personal: Parents are Judith Keller and Nelson Cronyn...major is undecided. His aunt, Lauren Keller, was on the US Olympic Volleyball in 1980, and his father, Nelson Cronyn, was a three-time National Time Trial Champion for cycling...siblings include Zayk and Avery...major is undecided.
Reason for choosing UW-Madison: I visited and really liked Madison. It has a great balance of academics, fun, and natural beauty and the rowing program is one of the best in the nation. I've also never lived in the Midwest and it seemed like it could be an interesting change.
