2013-2014 (Freshman): Sat sixth seat in the freshmen eight boat that placed second to another Wisconsin boat in a competition with Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering...also rowed with the lightweight varsity four boat that took fourth and the second freshmen four boat that earned second in the Minnesota and MSEO meet.
High School: Competed in rowing and football for two years...made the most tackles of the team at linebacker during his sophomore year...in rowing, took sixth place at UWRowing Youth Nationals in the Men's 8+ (2012), second place at USRowing Club Nationals in the Men's 8+ and Men's 4+ (2012), second place at USRowing Club Nationals in the Men's 2- (2013), fifth place at Canadian Henley in the Men's 8+ (2012), and fifth place at US Rowing Club Nationals in the Men's 8+ (2013)...wrestled for one year.
Personal: Parents are Guy and Elizabeth...major is undecided...great grandfather rowed for the Egyptian National Team and won an International gold medal in the 1x.
Reason for Choosing UW: I chose UW-Madison for its outstanding rowing team, academic opportunities, and the sports and college environment it offers.
What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: After rowing at Wisconsin for the past few months, I have begun to find what rowing at this school is about. To me, rowing for UW is a life-changing opportunity. If committed, you will be molded into a well-rounded citizen, student and athlete. This team means everything to me asit has molded me and is continuing to mold me into a responsible and mature man.
