MADISON, Wis. -- Sophomore forward Nic Kerdiles (Irvine, Calif.) earned his first weekly Big Ten honor this week after helping Wisconsin to the school's first Big Ten sweep against Penn State at the Kohl Center last weekend.
Kerdiles paced all Big Ten skaters with four points, including two goals and two assists. Posting a goal and an assist each night against Penn State, Kerdiles capped the weekend by breaking a 3-3 tie by tallying Saturday's game-winning goal with 8:08 remaining in the third period to give the Badgers a 4-3 victory. The games marked his second and third consecutive two-point performances. Kerdiles shares the team lead with 14 points in 12 games (7 goals, 7 assists).
Michigan State’s Jake Hildebrand and Minnesota’s Justin Kloos were named second and third stars of the week, while UW senior forward Sean Little (Fond du Lac, Wis.) was also nominated.
