Wisconsin men's hockey television schedule out

MADISON, Wis. –- The long-awaited Wisconsin men’s hockey television schedule, which includes game times for the season, is now available.

A total of 11 regular-season games are currently slated for television, while the entire 2013 Big Ten Tournament from the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., will also air live on BTN.

Wisconsin will appear six times on BTN, twice on ESPNU, twice on Fox Sports Wisconsin and once on CBS Sports Network during the regular season. UW will appear at least one additional time on BTN during the Big Ten tournament, and as many as three times, depending on how far UW advances.

“There is great anticipation for this season to begin for us, and now with the television schedule coming out, it builds the anticipation even more for the start of Big Ten hockey,” said head coach Mike Eaves. “We are excited with the national reach of our television schedule -- It is great for our hockey parents and for Badger fans all over the country.”

UW opens its season on Friday, Oct. 11 against Northern Michigan at the Kohl Center. The puck drops on the 2013-14 season at 7 p.m.

The first television appearance takes place on Friday, Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m. CT as UW’s game at Miami airs on CBS Sports Network.

The following Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29-30, which is Thanksgiving weekend, the Badgers skate at 4 p.m. on Friday on ESPNU and at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Minnesota on Fox Sports Wisconsin.

The Badgers return to the airwaves on Friday, Jan. 10 against Michigan at 8 p.m. on BTN, then again at home on Friday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. on BTN against Ohio State.

UW begins a stretch that includes six of eight games on national television with its game at Michigan (Jan. 31) on BTN at 5:30 p.m. CT. Home games against Minnesota on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 6-7 at 7:30 and 8 p.m., respectively, will air on BTN.

The Badgers’ home series against Michigan State on Feb. 21-22 will be shown on BTN (8 p.m.) and ESPNU (4 p.m.)

Finally, UW’s regular-season finale at Michigan State on Saturday, March 15 airs live on FSN Wisconsin at 3 p.m. CT.

The 2013 Big Ten Tournament will air live in its entirety on BTN from March 20-22.

Television information for the NCAA tournament depends on qualification and team placement.

Additional television broadcast information is expected at a later date. Home games not slated for television are expected to be live video streamed.
