Springer signs ECHL deal with Las Vegas

MADISON, Wis. -- Former University of Wisconsin defenseman Eric Springer will continue playing hockey as a member of the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL.  

Springer joins the Wranglers after a Badger playing career that included two goals and 10 points in 84 games on the blue line. The Wrightstown, Wis., native's most productive season came this past year when he scored a goal and five assists in 35 games played. His goal came against Mercyhurst on Nov. 26, 2011 and proved the game-winning tally in a 5-2 UW victory.

The 5-9 and 195-pound rear guard was a three-time Academic All-WCHA and Academic All-Big Ten selection as a consumer affairs major.
