MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin men's hockey team will open the 2013 NCAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Northeast Regional and face No. 1 seed UMass Lowell on Friday, March 29 at 3:30 p.m. CT in Manchester, N.H.

Verizon Wireless Arena will play host to the Northeast Regional, which contains Wisconsin (22-12-7), UMass Lowell (26-10-2), No. 2-seed and host-school New Hampshire (19-11-7) and No. 3 seed Denver (20-13-5). The matchup between Wisconsin and UMass Lowell will broadcast on ESPN3, and air tape-delayed on ESPNU at 9:30 p.m. CT. The announcement for a local live broadcast is to be determined. The game between UNH and Denver on Friday at 7 p.m. CT, and the regional final on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT, will air live on ESPNU.

The winner of the Northeast Regional advances to the 2013 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Frozen Four set for April 11 and 13 at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

The Badgers enter the national tournament as the 2013 WCHA Final Five champion, having won six-straight games. The conference tournament title marked the program's 12th WCHA playoff crown, its first Broadmoor Trophy since 1998 and first ever under head coach Mike Eaves.

"I think that every team in this tournament can beat any other team," Eaves said. "We've seen that all year in our league and playing in our non-conference games. Any team in this 16-team tournament can win...The issue for us is maintaining what we have and keep rolling."

Tickets for the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Northeast Regional are on sale now. Two-day passes can be purchased by visiting Ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.

All-session tickets for Wisconsin student season ticket-holders will go on sale Monday, March 25 at 7:30 a.m. CT online at UWBadgers.com (while supplies last).

Wisconsin has won six NCAA titles, including most recently in 2006. The Badgers also won titles in 1990, 1983, 1981, 1977 and 1973.
