MADISON, Wis.— Less than a month from now, the Wisconsin men’s hockey team will return to the site of past glories when it plays host to St. Cloud State for a series on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center.
For the Badgers, it will mark their first games at the Coliseum since the 2005 WCHA playoffs. Wisconsin skated its home games at the Coliseum from 1967 until 1998.
Wisconsin’s final regular-season WCHA games in program history will feature a few of the things that made games at the Coliseum must-see events, like bed-sheet signs and the beer garden.
You can win two tickets to the series by entering your banner ideas at the Wisconsin Badgers’ facebook page.
Tickets for the games at the Coliseum were not included as part of UW’s season ticket packages because of two reasons --- we didn’t want to force fans to buy the games when they weren’t in our home building and seating at the Coliseum is about half the size at the Coliseum (approximately 8,000) when compared to the Kohl Center (15,359).
Tickets for the games are on sale now online at Ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-745-3000. Tickets cost $24 for the general public, $7 for students (limit of 2), $18 for groups of 15-39 and $13 for groups of 40 or more. Parking will be $6 the night of the game. Parking is available upon entry at $6 for a car and $18 for a bus. Cash or check only is accepted for parking.
Tickets can also be purchased at the Alliant Energy Center Box Office from Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
