MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s golf will compete in its last tournament of the 2013 season at the Big Ten Championships April 26-28 in French Lick, Ind.

The tournament will be played on the award-winning Pete-Dye course, ranked the No. 1 golf course in Indiana by Golfweek magazine.

Nine of the top 20 finishers in the 2012 Big Ten Championships return for this year’s event, including five of the top 10.

Illinois returns two top-20 finishers from a year ago, as Thomas Pieters (T-5th) and Brian Campbell (T-15) look to help the Illini earn their fifth-straight Big Ten title. The Badgers placed 11th at last year’s Big Ten Championships, where they shot a 317-326-300-306—1249 for the 72-hole tournament.

The traveling team will consist of Thomas O'Bryan, John Gullberg, Zach Balit, Chris Meyer and Rob Jacobsen. O'Bryan has led the team in four tournaments this year and is averaging 75.13 strokes per round. He was the top finisher for the Badgers at the 2012 conference tournament as a freshman tying for 28th with an 80-78-73-77-708.

Senior Chris Meyer has led UW in three tournaments this year and is second on the team in scoring with 75.48 strokes per round.

Junior John Gullberg had a career best 18-hole score in the last round of the Hawkeye-Great River Invitational and recorded his lowest 54-hole score to finish tied for 18th with a 6-over par 78-74-70—222.

Rounds one and two will be played on Friday, April 26, round three on Saturday, April 27 with the final round on Sunday, April 28. Live stats can be followed at golfstat.com.
