MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's golf team had a successful fall campaign that saw a young team with no seniors make valuable steps forward in the growth process. UW wrapped up its fall season on October 26th with a 14th place finish in the Memphis Invitational. The Badgers will use the lessons learned throughout the fall season to build upon in the upcoming spring season.

The Badgers finished with three top-10 finishes, an impressive mark for a team that saw three golfers make their collegiate debuts. Their best finish came in Ft. Myers, Fla., where the team came in fifth place at the Renaissance Intercollegiate, carding a 295-296-290=881.

The key to the Badgers future may rest with Canadian import Stephane Dubois. Making his debut as a freshman, Dubois came out of the gate strong, leading the Badgers with a 18th place finish at the first fall tournament by shooting a 224 at the Gopher Invitational. He finished as UW's top golfer in three of the five tournaments, including being the only Badger to finish in the top 40 in all of his events. Dubois also completed the season as Wisconsin's top scorer with an 18-hole average round of 73.46.

The other key golfer for the Badgers this past fall was sophomore Anthony Aicher, a Wausau, Wis., native. He led the Badgers in their other two tournaments, and made marked improvements from his freshman season. This was especially noted in his scoring average, which improved by nearly a stroke to 75.26.

Wisconsin will also be looking for strong spring performances from Christopher Meyer and Thomas Welk in the spring. Each will look to improve their consistency after setting individual career lows during the 2010 fall season.

The Badgers will begin the spring season Feb. 12-13 at the Heron Bay Golf Club for Big Ten Match Play in West Palm Beach, Fla.
