Akron, Ohio- The Badgers are 12th with a 12-over 300 after the first round of the weather-shortened 36-hole Firestone Invitational held at the Firestone Country Club in Arkon, Ohio. Frost cancelled the first 18 of 36 holes today. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Ball State is in first place of the 17-team tournament after round one with a 6-under 282. South Carolina-Aiken is in second with a 3-under 285.

Matt Atkins of South Carolina-Aiken and Tyler Merkel of Ball State are tied after the first round with a 4-under 68.

UW was led by senior Anthony Aicher who is tied for 16^th and with an even par 72. Playing his first collegiate tournament, freshman Matt Ross is tied for 21^st with a 1-over 73. Senior Chris Meyer is tied for 64^th with a 5-over 77. Sophomore Thomas O'Bryan is tied for 74^th with a 6-over 78. Junior Brady Keegan is 87^th with a 10-over 82.

Play concludes with 18 holes tomorrow.
