AWENDAW, S.C. -- Despite postponing play the first day because of torrential rain, and having high winds on day two, the Badgers completed the 54-hole Hootie @ Bulls Bay Intercollegiate placing 15th with a 60-over par 306-314-304--924. UW tied its low 54-hole score in just the second tournament of the spring held at the Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.

No. 11 Duke won the event which was played over just two days instead of three, with a 10-over par 302-288-284--874. North Carolina State played better than its No. 48 ranking shooting a 13-over par 301-293-283--877.

NC State's Logan Harrell won medalist honors with a 3-under par 74-73-66--213. Duke's Austin Cody finished 2-under with 73-74-67--214 to claim second. Only five players in the field of 75 had under-par finishes.

Senior Chris Meyer and sophomore Zach Balit led the Badgers at 9-over par to tie for 27th. Balit had season bests for 18, 36 and 54-holes, and finished one stroke off his career 54-hole best with a 75-79-71--225. Meyer shot 76-76-73--225.

UW's leading scorer, sophomore Thomas O'Bryan, had an unusually bad outing tying for 63rd at 19-over 79-79-77--235. Rounding out the scoring were juniors John Gullberg and Brady Keegan who tied for 72nd with 27-over 243.

The Badgers will take a break and wait for spring to arrive in the north before entering the Hawkeye-Great River Invitational April 13-14 at Iowa City, Iowa.
