MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin sophomore safety Michael Trotter was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team for District 6. He was the lone Badger to be honored and one of five Big Ten players to make the list. Nominees must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and must be a contributor to the team’s success.

Trotter has played in all 10 games this season with three starts. He made his first career start against Utah State on Sept. 15, in place of the injured Shelton Johnson. He has made 22 tackles this season and has one sack and one pass broken up.

On the academic side, Trotter is an accounting major with a 3.64 GPA. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors as a freshman last year.

Trotter is the seventh Badger to earn Academic All-District honors under head coach Bret Bielema. The others are Luke Swan (2006, ’07), Joe Thomas (2006), Zach Brown (2008), Brad Nortman (2009), Bradie Ewing (2010) and Peter Konz (2010).
