Sept. 22, 2010
MADISON, Wis. – For his performance against Arizona State on Sept. 18, senior Lance Kendricks has been named the John Mackey Tight End of the Week, the Nassau County Sports Commission announced Wednesday.
In the Badgers’ 20-19 win against the Sun Devils, Kendricks set a career high with 131 receiving yards and tied his career best with seven receptions and a touchdown. All seven of Kendricks' receptions went for first downs, including two that occurred on third down.
His score came late in the first half as, despite being interfered with, Kendricks hauled in a 10-yard reception with 10 seconds left to give UW a 13-10 lead at the break. Kendricks also came up with a game-clincher, gaining 17 yards on a third-and-two at the Arizona State 45-yard line with under two minutes on the clock.
Kendricks, who was named to the preseason Mackey Award Watch List, has started all three games in 2010, catching 11 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
