Video: Darien's new room a dream come true

June 12, 2013

MADISON, Wis. -- When 14-year-old cancer survivor Darien Moran wished for a Badgers-themed bedroom makeover through Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, he never thought the Wisconsin football team would actually be involved in the process.

The Madison native received a pleasant surprise, however, when five members of the team showed up on the first night of his bedroom makeover and every night until it was finished. Over four evenings, members of the football team visited Darien’s home to help assemble furniture and electronics and entertain the young boy while his room was being remodeled.

On the day of the big reveal, Derek Watt and Ray Ball gave Darien an exclusive tour of Camp Randall Stadium, where head coach Gary Andersen invited Darien to help coach a day of camp and attend the Badgers’ season opener against UMass.

The four-day makeover experience culminated on May 15, when seven Badgers were on hand for Darien’s room reveal party.
