Phil Steele All-Big Ten and All-America Teams Get Acrobat Reader

MADISON, Wis. -- College football expert Phil Steele has released his 2010 preseason honors and seniors Gabe Carimi and Lance Kendricks have been named to his All-America teams. Carimi, an offensive lineman, was named to the second team, while Kendricks was named to the third team as a tight end.

In addition, 16 Badgers, including Carimi and Kendricks, were named to one of four All-Big Ten teams.

Carimi and Kendricks were each named first-team All-Big Ten, as were junior running back John Clay, sophomore linebacker Chris Borland and junior defensive lineman J.J. Watt.

Seven Badgers were named to the second team.

Senior offensive lineman John Moffitt, junior wide receiver Nick Toon and junior offensive lineman Josh Oglesby  were all placed on the second team’s offense, while junior defensive back Devin Smith and senior defensive back Jay Valai were put on defense. Senior David Gilreath was selected as the second team’s punt returner, while junior Philip Welch was tabbed as the kicker.

Sophomore linebacker Mike Taylor and junior punter Brad Nortman were each picked for the third team, while senior quarterback Scott Tolzien and senior wide receiver Isaac Anderson were selected for fourth-team All-Big Ten.

The Wisconsin football team has already received accolades from Athlon Sports and Lindy’s.
