Lewis to be Inducted into South Jersey Hall of Fame

Former Badger linebacker and current Detroit Lion, Alex Lewis, has been honored by the South Jersey Football Coaches Association and will be inducted into the South Jersey Football Hall of Fame this summer.

Lewis, a Delran, N.J. native, totaled 175 tackles, including 27 for a loss and 10 QB sacks in two seasons at Wisconsin. In 2003 he was named a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and second-team All-Big Ten by the media.

Lewis was picked by the Lions as the 140th overall selection in the 2004 NFL draft and has played four seasons (started four games) on special teams and at reserve linebacker, starting in four contests.

Fans in the Jersey area can call 856-582-0212 for tickets to the June 25th event held at Massos in Glassboro, N.J. The Hall of Fame induction coincides with the Adam Taliaferro Classic, an annual high school all-star football game that showcases South Jerseys premier seniors on June 26.
